Counselling sessions can take place online or in-person for those based in Melbourne (Australia). The focus of each 60 minute session is dependent on what you feel called to address in that given moment as well as the goals set in our initial sessions.
Generally speaking, the benefits of therapy include:
Understanding and processing emotions
Improving relationships with yourself and others
Improving communication skills
Gaining clarity around decisions and direction
Greater self-understanding and confidence
Develop better coping skills and strategies

I have an interest in Narrative, Existential and Person Centered frameworks. I support my clients to challenge their interpretations of the past and construct narratives that empower them to take steps that are reflective of their strengths, goals, and authentic self.
A combination of other modalities can also be used because ultimately, my therapeutic approach is guided by your circumstances. I also use:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
Internal Family Systems
Relational and Attachment Theory Focus
Positive Psychology and Strengths Based.

In Australia, counsellors can't accept MHCP. However, my session costs are similar, if not cheaper, to what you would pay if a rebate was applied.

There's no definite answer here, as every person and their situation is different. There is no minimum commitment and you're welcome to take breaks.
